I’m back! Not that I’ve really gone anywhere. How has it been over a year since I’m last posted? Now Plonker has to get back in the game.
It’s actually a little weird because WordPress has updated itself like 47 times since the last time I posted and I’m not used to this set up.
So what’s been going on? A little procrastination, a little bit of busy, and a little of trying to make up for some lost time.
Last year, 2019, was an overall pretty shitty year for both me and Plonker, we didn’t have our usual road trips, bike trips, or other adventures. Our planned Bike Trip 4.0 that was planned for last year has now been pushed to this year, which is great, because we didn’t ride at all last year. And it’s almost 650 miles round trip. Our current record is 360 miles, with a good week between the first 180 and the second 180. Also we’ve both gained an ass ton of weight. The goal was to ride during the winter on bike trainers. I bought one in July. Plonker…. still hasn’t. Fun fact, bike trainers – with the whole simulator software and what not, still boring as hell. You, or I really, need the push of someone there, to either feel like I’m kicking their ass or so they don’t kick my ass. Left on my own… meh, not a lot of motivation. My bike trainer, however, has been in my living room, in front of the big window, not a favorite place for me.
Fujupz Studio P is no more. At least until Studio P 2.0 is created. Studio P v.1 Never created any content except a commentary for one of our bike trip time lapse video that was never used, and some Instagram posts about a 14 foot tv we made. Plonker has moved, but we’re hoping to make Studio P 2.0 a place to actually create content.
Sadly, along with the move, is the loss of Fujupz Field. It was long in coming, one YouTube video posted by Plonker taken with his phone talking about plans for the field, in vertical format (this we why we need tripods and/or a video crew), then 2 years later a finished field on national news. Of course, they never mentioned on tv or in the articles the Fujupz Field name, however Plonker DID say it on a radio show. Fujupz Field will always be remembered by the Fujupz Field mug Fujupz Printing Division created for the occasion.
I accidently got a part time job for about 6 months last year. It took up a lot of my time, considering I already have a full time day job AND trying to make something out of Fujupz. I have 2 concurrent projects going on at the same time in my house, a bathroom move/remodel, and Fujupz office/print shop/Studio H in my basement. The part time job took up basically every second of free time I had and set me back 6 months. This week I should be able to start floor leveling and walls for the office.
With Plonker’s move he decided to downsize on everything and has given me his desk. The desk I previously used had a work surface maybe 2 foot wide. I found it incredibly difficult to work at. I have all kinds of room now, and finally have a place I can do soldering without having to crouch on the floor. However, it IS in my basement office, in the middle of construction, so I’ll have to me moving it around. And remember how I mentioned leveling the floor? I had to jack up the one side by 1.5 inches to get it somewhat level. That itself is not too bad, however, where the wheeled desk chair sits is also sloped and I keep rolling away from the keyboard.
Only because I’ve talked about it in past blog posts, we sold our Scitex FB500 printer at my day job. Fujupz Printing Divsion offered $20, then $100, but was outbid. That’s fine though, I would have had to disassemble it to cram it in my basement.
This was basically a short catch-up article, with the intent more frequent updates.
